An Itasca software license consists of two parts: the license type (physical/virtual key and number of seats) and license term (duration). All software is available for supported Windows platforms and the current versions of 3DEC, FLAC2D, FLAC3D, MassFlow, and PFC are supported for Ubuntu Linux.
LICENSE TYPE
Web
Ideal for organizations with many users at different locations and/or for cloud computing
Lowest cost and fastest delivery
Does not require a physical USB key, but does require internet access1 during model cycling or model modification
Allows multiple seats per web license
Software may be installed on as many computers as needed, but simultaneous use is limited to the number of seats on the license
Customers have administrative control over the web license and can add and subtract users, view license usage, and perform other administrative tasks
Permits two instances of the software to cycle for each seat purchased, except for Griddle
Not currently available for XSite
Desktop
Useful for organizations requiring a physical security key (additional fee applies)
Stand-alone, single-user license
Permits two instances of the software to create and solve models simultaneously on a single computer
No limit to the number of instances that may be used to view an existing model (i.e., results visualization and output)
USB key must be connected to the computer to allow cycling or model modification
USB security key may be moved between computers and users as needed
Network
Ideal for a centralized, IT-administered organization or organizations requiring a physical security key (additional fee applies)
Multiple seats may be purchased per network license
USB security key and license management software are installed on client server
Software may be installed on as many computers as needed, but simultaneous use is limited to the number of seats on the license
Requires network connection to the client server while cycling
Permits two instances of the software to cycle for each seat purchased, except for Griddle and UDEC
LICENSE TERM
Subscription
Subscriptions have access to the latest software version which provides continuous innovation, enhanced security, improved performance, and adaptability to changing needs
Subscriptions benefit from regular bug fixes plus stability improvements and seamless updates

Requires a Web license
The license is effective as long as the subscription is active (Buy Now)

The license is effective on a month-by-month basis

SPECIAL LICENSES
Demonstration Software
Demonstration versions of the software are intended to provide an opportunity to evaluate the software, review documentation, and to learn its use
If the software is started without a license, it may be run in Demonstration Mode by clicking the continue option when prompted
This mode includes all features and any options
The number of zones, blocks, balls, and/or other components is capped at some small value (varies by software)
Project and model save functionality and grid export capabilities are disabled
