    Penetration of a Single Steel Foundation Pin in a Granitic Rock

    El desarrollo de una turbina de marea submarina requiere un trabajo de investigación específico sobre el diseño de la base que estará en contacto con el fondo marino. Esta etapa de diseño se puede simplificar mediante el uso de modelamiento numérico y, particularmente, mediante modelamiento discreto. HydroQuest solicitó a Cathie Associates que comprobara sus cálculos anteriores con respecto al comportamiento de un anclaje único de fundación de acero en un macizo rocoso granítico utilizando el enfoque numérico discreto de Itasca y evaluar las fuerzas aplicadas al anclaje, así como el estado de la zona dañada alrededor de la punta durante la penetración.

Se ha enfocado en trabajo en terreno en coordinación de grupos de trabajo, planificación, supervisión y realización de prospecciones, perforación de pozos de agua, realización de ensayos de bombeo individuales y simultáneos, toma de muestras de agua, medida de parámetros físico-químicos , interpretación geofísica y análisis de los resultados obtenidos en terreno para la elaboración de informes.
